Which crossover with be the safest for their passengers in this new test and which will suck ass?!?!?!?!
Lets start with the Buick Encore above.
Result: Acceptable (aka, meh)
Next, The Hyundai Tucson
Result: Good
Nissan Rouge (how it posta be spelt, yo!)
Result: Marginal (aka oh dear, not too good homes!)
Subaru Forester
Result: Marginal (aka, WTF Subaru? You were doing so good with safety.)
Mazda CX-5
Result: Acceptable (aka, 50/50 between ok and PAIN!)
Honda CR-V
Result: Acceptable (Ya’ll foos were doing good with safety. Acura also. WTF?)
Now for the king. The future best selling car in the USA..
Toyota Rav-4
Result: POOR! (aka help control the children population. Have you son/daughter ride shotgun in a Rav-4. Mom is safe doe)
I guess the lines at the water park are going to get shorter.... so there is that :]

Pretty cool to see Hyundai kick ass in this test.

That’s why I always drive the CX-5.
Which has a posterior shaped passenger airbag.
I see you’re also bored at work and are perusing YouTube.

Is the Nissan Rouge like the Rogue, but with more colorful fascia?

yes :]

Damn it, no Tiguan!

i guess they just tested the “popular” cars.
But why no Ford Escape?
Maybe later, later later.... but not right now right now

looks like the Nissan and Subaru both have issues with airbag placement, as the dummy’s head slips through them both to the a-pillar.... that can easily get you a “marginal” rating. The Toyota on the other hand has good head restraint with the airbags, which means it must be pretty bad down below...

See. Crossovers suck.
![]() 06/23/2016 at 17:30 |

it’s possible. I saw their head hit and instantly thing “poor” rating but no. For Toyota, there is probably some bad G metering or leg injuries like you said. It looked fine to me

what? My Xc90 kicks ass! More than my Audi Avant by a lot. That Ford Escape I had as a rental was super rad also. Conclusion, crossover suck 99% of the time :]

This is of course a lower concern due to the fact you’re unlikely to hit oncoming traffic on that side.
It’s also a bit surprising given that you’d expect the basic structure to be symmetrical for crash safety in countries where they drive on the left.

European cars might do better? It is something I was think also about the whole symmetrical aspect. On the driver’s side those cars are good. Engine layout? Idk :(

I don't really count the XC90 as a crossover.

uses the S60 subframe...... it’s a crossover*
*on steroids execrated from fighter military moose!!!

Disappointment.
Well..if I had to have a crossover, that's the one I'd go for.
![]() 06/23/2016 at 17:57 |

it’s the only one i’d do as well buddy :] For many MANY non-crossover reasons
![]() 06/23/2016 at 18:02 |

Most crossovers are inherently a bad compromise
![]() 06/23/2016 at 18:43 |
|
nah, they aren’t too bad.
![]() 06/23/2016 at 18:49 |

The big ones I’ll give a pass but the small crossovers just are terrible.

Yeah that’s true. VW probably didn’t want to test it since it never sells, and they want to replace it. I wish they would test the Jetta though, they did with the Passat, and it looks the safest.
The A4 and Q7 didn't even budge though, makes me really glad I own German cars.
